Then she kept getting herself tangled in it and I took it off. She never suffocated or anything, obviously she's doing fine. With my son I decided to go with a crib set that had just a crib fringe instead of a bumper and he was just fine too. He never got his legs or head caught in the rails. I just didn't see the point of having an expensive bumper that I could only use for a few months. I found a pic of a crib fringe, the one I had was like this but blue and made the crib still look adorable: It would probably be really easy to just make one yourself for a lot less if you know how to sew. Anyway I think it would be what your instinct says, I doubt the odds of anything happening to your baby with a bumper in their crib is high. My mom had one in my crib and I'm still alive.
